My Bucket List - Thailand

Updated: Jan 9, 2023

I'm not sure how I have not visited this incredible place yet. It's possibly the long journey that has put me off, but, I really need to get over this, split up the journey and get there.

The meaning of the word 'Thailand' means land of the free.

Over 16 million tourists fly to Thailand every year.

Must to do and visit...

  • The grand Palace, Bangkok. Over 200 year old buildings. It has been the official residence of the King of Siam since it was built in 1782.

  • An ethical Elephant experience. The Elephant Nature Park rehabilitates rescue elephants and your visit helps their work. You can hear stories of each rescued and orphaned elephant and watch them roam and play.

  • Visit some of the world's prettiest islands, with 5000 miles of coastline to explore. Phang Nga Bay is on the West Coast and home to the James Bond island. Ko Phi Phi Lee & Ko Phi Phi Don offer absolutely breath taking views and white sandy beaches. You can visit the Viking caves, snorkel and swim in the lagoons.

  • Float on a floating market. Visit rickety wooden boats piled high with the colourful local produce. Arrive early to avoid crowds and bag the best bargains.

Interesting facts...

  • It is the largest exporter of rice in the world

  • it is illegal to step on Thai currency

  • It is illegal to leave your house without underwear!
